The SD40-2 would prove to be one of the most important locomotive types on the Milwaukee Road, especially in its later years. These reliable machines were visually distinctive thanks to the shorter 3,200-gallon fuel tank Milwaukee specified. We are pleased to offer the definitive Milwaukee Road SD40-2 including units in the relatively short-lived 3000-number series. To the best of our knowledge, the 3000-number series has never been offered on a plastic SD40-2.
